WE ARE RULE 20
Rule 20 is a non-profit organization founded to support military service members.

More than any time in our history, U.S. service members are asked to develop relationships with global allies and partners. As the very best representatives of America, U.S. service members and their families have embraced patriots from countries around the world who dedicate their lives to democracy and freedom. These aren’t just work relationships, but common bonds across brothers, sisters, and families in arms. They become one.

Yet, when disaster strikes, we are short-changing our service members by leaving them, as individuals, to worry about what will happen to their partners and allies. Rule 20 is here to change that.

MORAL INJURY
A Moral Injury can occur in anyone who experiences an act which damages the person’s moral conscience. It can produce profound emotional guilt and shame and, in some cases, a strong sense of anger and betrayal.

Most recently, many members of the U.S. military have sustained Moral Injury through the nature of our nation’s withdrawal from Afghanistan. Too many of the Afghans we partnered with, trained, fought and bled beside, were left without any emigration pathway to escape Taliban persecution.

Moral Injury erodes U.S. military effectiveness and the sanctity of the American family. It brings
the battle back home for our spouses and children to fight on their own. However, this is
preventable and treatable through deliberate action.

Afghan Special Mission Wing aircrews and their families are in hiding, unable to sustain themselves for fear of violent retribution. Rule 20 works with established US food distribution organizations to deliver food discretely and directly to these families. Your contribution will help US trained Afghan Air Commandos survive.

OUR MISSION

PREVENT

We partner with organizations around the world to support at-risk populations that have partnered with US veterans and prevent Moral Injury from occurring. Preventing Moral Injury to veterans is the goal, support to allies and partners is how we accomplish that goal.

TREAT

Should prevention fail, we maintain partnerships with mental health organizations that specialize in Moral Injury. These organizations employ highly trained and professionally licensed therapists to provide the highest level of care to the people who need it the most.

ADVOCATE

To affect long term change, we provide resources for veterans, leaders, family, friends, and co-workers everywhere to learn about Moral Injury. A common understanding of Moral Injury will enable us all to prevent and treat it more effectively.

IMPOSSIBLE CHOICES EVERY DAY
One veteran had to decide whether a group of widows and female soldiers or a tribal elder and his two Special Immigrant Visa applicant sons would receive the organization’s newest safe house. Within six hours of placing the women and children in the house, he learned that the Taliban had captured and killed the tribal elder.

NO LEGAL PATHWAYS TO CITIZENSHIP
The issues of status and transportation stand in the way of evacuating nearly 33,500 high-risk Afghan allies. This vast number includes intelligence officials, commandos, special forces units, and their families. Though most are under serious threat from the Taliban and have worked side-by-side with Americans, they have no immediate means of accessing U.S. citizenship.
